LinkedIn x Headspace

Learn to put your inner voice to work

Everyone has an inner voice and, too often, we let the negative or overly critical version of it win. But the truth is, our inner voice will never go away. The key is to reframe our thought process so we can use our inner voice to our advantage and turn it into a constructive tool to help us grow in our careers. In an effort to kick off 2024 with a focus on prioritizing wellness in the workplace, we launched a global partnership campaign between LinkedIn and the mental health app, Headspace, to help our members learn how to nurture a growth mindset and put their inner voice to work.

Working with Headspace experts, Liz Fosslien and Mollie Duffy, we co-created the eight-episode content series, “Life Skills: Embracing Emotions at Work”, covering a variety of workplace topics such as dealing with work jealousy, how to fall in love with your job again, and getting comfortable having tough conversations. And we gave all LinkedIn members two free months of Headspace so they so they could gain access to this exclusive content right away.

We continued the campaign on LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok, sharing positive reminders, tips, and resources on how to reframe your mindset at work. We distilled topics from our content series down to bite-sized takeaways and worked with Headspace expert, Eve, to share actionable ways to rephrase negative thoughts into positive affirmations.

On LinkedIn Learning, we worked with Headspace to create custom courses available to all LinkedIn members. The courses were lead by Headspace experts and included in-depth exercises to help build better workday practices.

And we ended the campaign with a bang, by hosting a LinkedIn Live event between Headspace coaching expert, Kali Fields Williams, and LinkedIn’s own News Editor and host of Everyday Better, Leah Smart. Our event focused on unpacking mental health in the workplace by sharing tangible actions to foster a healthy growth mindset.

The goal of the campaign was to increase member value and it did just that. Our message around reframing the inner voice resonated so well that it became a theme we carried through with future campaigns, continuing to emphasize the importance of professional wellness to the entire LinkedIn community. It was a meaningful campaign that kickstarted a wider movement of prioritizing mental health in the workplace.
