The American Daydream

Krispy Kreme was launching their new American-inspired doughnuts in the UK, giving customers the chance to win a summer road trip across the United States. So we created a dreamy campaign to get mouths drooling over delicious doughnuts set in iconic American landscapes.

 
 

We brought the idea to life with retro-inspired motel signs specially designed for each new doughnut, setting them in their picturesque namesake locations along the winner’s road trip route. And we used in-store branding, posters, packaging, digital and social media to bring the American daydream to our customers in rainy England.

As an extra freebie we even threw in custom playlists based on each doughnut to accompany the road trip. This was the result of my partner and I staying late and blasting music through the empty office. The clients liked it so much, they used it in all their stores for the campaign.

 
 

It was Krispy Kreme’s most successful ad campaign in the UK.
And needless to say, I ate enough doughnuts to satisfy my cravings for a lifetime!
